Biography

Desiree Span was born in the Netherlands but raised in a home shaped by two distinct cultural backgrounds. She grew up surrounded by a mix of languages, traditions, and perspectives that continue to influence her storytelling.
At a young age, her parents were sent abroad as expats. She has lived in South America, Mexico, the U.S.A., and on the beautiful island of Curaçao, which led her to speak fluent Dutch, Spanish, English, and Papiamento.
Having moved around a lot gave Desiree a passion for traveling and a strong interest in getting to know different cultures, people, and the stories they have to tell.

Oliver and Erica were published by Amsterdam Publishers. In 2022, Desiree founded her own publishing agency, DXG Publishing.
Besides traveling, Desiree’s guilty pleasures include binge-watching her favorite TV series, shopping sprees, homemade Mexican food, and curling up on the couch with an intense romantic novel.
